Mental Vacation

Have you ever wondered what it's like to travel to the other side of the world? Maybe you have, most people haven't. I often find myself imagining what it would be like to visit Japan. After watching The Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift and seeing all of the different infrastructures with all of the lights, my mind has never stopped wondering. Have you ever seen pictures of the black sand beaches in Tahiti or the pink sands of Indonesia? How about the ice glaciers in Argentina or the Miracle Garden in Dubai (If you haven't seen it YOU MUST GOOGLE IT...like I did)? Most of us will never get to see these extravagant places (although if you really want to go we will certainly make it a goal!). Who says that we can't retreat there mentally???

Let's talk about mental vacations. Yes! It IS a thing. It's been clinically proven that when you fix your mind on a place where you want to be, somewhere beautiful and relaxing, it brings your stress levels down. I know right! Who would've thought?! Our thoughts have power and WE are in control of our thoughts.

Taking mental vacations has gotten me through some of the most stressful moments. When I'm in a place that I do not want to be in or when I'm overwhelmed with too many things to do, I just take a moment and retreat away from it mentally. By the time I come back to reality I am accompanied by a sense of peace.

If you can not get away physically try retreating mentally and see how much of a difference it makes in how you feel in that moment! Let me know "where you go"!
