Hey Babies!
Fall is here!
Now that statement could have done one of two things: it gave you joy or it made you cringe depending on how you feel about the crisp aired season.
Personally I’m on the fence. I’m a summer girl through and through! My favorite thing to do is sit out on the patio to watch the summer rain storms. I love everything about it. I love the sound that it makes when it hits the ground, the roar of the thunder, the thrill of the lightening. I like to watch the patterns in which it comes down and I love the way it feels when it hits a surface and splashes me. If you ask me my idea of relaxing, there it is. That will be my answer every time. It’s therapeutic. My mind feels free. I feel a connection with the Creator as if I’m in His zone while He is putting on the show of the year. In those moments, I feel like I can pour out my soul to Him and in the midst of His directing, He is listening with the most concentrated and tuned in ear.
Now that you have that super dramatic visual… I can continue…
I can’t do that in the fall. When it rains, it’s cold. So I miss summer the second that it’s gone. For some people, change in weather can really altar their mood. While I am a “summer girl”, I had to find joy in the other seasons as well. It is important to figure out what alternatives you can choose to stand in for those weather friendly activities that you have to put on hold.
Some of the things I found that helped with my “cool weather blues” are boxing, singing (my go to in EVERY season), baking and writing. Boxing I go to when I’m feeling angry. It allows me to be aggressive and it feels good! Singing is one thing I can go to no matter what I am feeling. The SONG CHOICE is what depends on my mood. Now that, is for a whole different blog post! Baking comes into action when I have way too much on my mind and still—is something that I just do not need. It gets me moving and the end result leaves me full of joy because I am THEE bakery addict. Last there’s writing, my peaceful activity. That’s what I do when I finally get some quiet time. All of my thoughts that want to set in, I let them and then I wrote them down. Whether I’m writing a song, poetry or a letter when I’m done I feel relieved. I can never go wrong with writing. As a matter of fact I’m doing so, I became an Author (search me on Amazon… and yes I get to schpill on my own blog post *wink*).
Now as I said earlier, I am on the fence about this whole “Fall thing”. While I’m not the happiest to have to give up my warm summer rain, I must admit I do get super excited about all the hot drinks. I love them all. Hot tea, hot chocolate (white is my preference), hot apple cider and my new discovery *drum roll please* a London Fog. Omg it’s to die for! If you’ve never heard of it you have to try it. Today! Go to Starbucks and order a London Fog (it’s a lot simpler than ordering a caramel macchiato with almond milk and extra foam). So it’s Earl grey tea with added vanilla flavor and steamed milk. It makes for this creamy dream drink that I never thought I would like. So good!
Aside from the hot drinks, I love wearing sweatsuits. I mean, it’s like having permission to walk around with a blanket on. They’re so warm and I swear they get cuter and cuter every year! Then there’s the boots. Another love of mine. I’m not sure which type I love more the leather knee high boots or a simple timberland. Either way, I’m here for them all!
If I can have hot drinks, sweat pants, and boots I’m in. Throw in a bonfire and I’m in HAPPILY!
What is your favorite thing about fall? We have to learn how to find joy no matter what “season” we’re in. With that being said, your answer may not be “nothing”. Haha
Happy Fall people!!!
